About this phone
iPhone 12 Pro Max
Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max - Refurbished Smartphones
The iPhone 12 Pro Max is the version of the iPhone 12 Pro that doesn't hold anything back. The 6.7-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display at 2778 × 1284 pixels is larger and sharper than the standard Pro, and it comes with the biggest battery in the iPhone 12 lineup at 3687 mAh—a genuine full-day phone for heavy users. The camera system matches the 12 Pro's triple 12MP setup, but the main sensor is larger, which makes a noticeable difference in low-light performance and the quality of bokeh in portrait shots.
That larger main sensor, combined with sensor-shift OIS—a feature exclusive to the Pro Max in the iPhone 12 generation—means the camera system stabilizes video and photos more effectively than the standard 12 Pro. The A14 Bionic chip runs everything smoothly, Face ID unlocks the phone in a glance, and LiDAR rounds out a camera package that still competes well with more recent mid-range phones. The stainless steel frame and textured back reinforce a build quality that feels properly premium in hand.
A refurbished iPhone 12 Pro Max from Fone4U is Grade A condition, fully unlocked for any network in Ireland, and comes with an 18-month warranty, a USB cable, and a SIM pin opener. For anyone who wants maximum screen size, maximum battery, and Pro camera capabilities in the iPhone 12 generation, this is the one to go for—and buying refurbished from Fone4U means getting there without paying new prices.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Pro Max has a larger 6.7-inch display versus the Pro's 6.1-inch, a bigger 3687mAh battery versus 2815m Ah, a larger main camera sensor for better low-light performance and sensor-shift OIS—a more advanced stabilization system that was exclusive to the Pro Max in the iPhone 12 generation. Everything else — chip, software, camera count, LiDAR — is the same.
The iPhone 12 Pro Max uses Face ID for unlocking, Apple Pay, and App Store authentication. There is no Touch ID fingerprint sensor on this model.
Sensor-shift optical image stabilization moves the camera sensor itself to counteract hand movement, rather than moving the lens. Apple used it first on the iPhone 12 Pro Max before rolling it out to other models. The result is noticeably smoother video and sharper low-light photos compared to lens-shift OIS systems.
For everyday photography, yes. The larger main sensor, sensor-shift OIS, LiDAR-assisted autofocus, and ProRAW support mean the 12 Pro Max still takes excellent photos and video. Where newer models pull ahead is computational photography and video features like Cinematic mode, but the core image quality from the 12 Pro Max remains strong.
With a 3,687 mAh battery—the largest in the iPhone 12 lineup—Apple rates it for around 20 hours of video playback.
Yes. Every refurbished iPhone 12 Pro Max from Fone4U comes with an 18-month warranty as standard, along with a USB cable and a SIM pin opener. And if you ever need support, you're covered by Fone4U's Irish-based team.
Yes, Fone4U offered fully unlocked iphones, so they work seamlessly with Three, Vodafone, Eir, Tesco Mobile, and any other Irish carrier—no SIM locks, no network restrictions, no hassle.
We carry the iPhone 12 Pro Max in 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB. Stock changes regularly, so the best way to see what's currently available is to check the product listing at Fone4U before you order.
It depends on your hands and habits. At 160.8 × 78.1 mm, it's a large phone—comparable in size to current large-screen flagships—and most users find it requires two hands for comfortable typing. If you want a phone you can use one-handed, the standard 12 Pro or the 12 Mini would suit better.
Yes. The iPhone 12 Pro Max supports 5G, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.0. For daily connectivity in Irish cities and towns with 5G coverage, it handles modern network speeds without issue.
It's rated IP68—tested to handle submersion in up to 6 meters of water for 30 minutes under controlled conditions. Rain, spills, and accidental drops in water are covered without concern.
If you want the best camera, the biggest display, and the longest battery in the iPhone 12 lineup—all at a price well below current flagship models—yes. A Grade A refurbished iPhone 12 Pro Max from Fone4U is tested, fully unlocked for any Irish network, covered by an 18-month warranty, and represents one of the best value Pro Max iPhones available in Ireland right now.

Why it matters
Original parts vs cheap copies
Every part in this phone is its own original part. Nothing has been swapped for a cheap copy. Here’s why that matters.
Original partCheap copy part
Screen
True colours, full brightness and True Tone, with smooth, precise touch
Duller colours, lower brightness and often no True Tone. Touch can lag or miss
Battery
Full rated capacity, safety-tested, and Battery Health reads correctly
Often less real capacity, can run hot or swell, and Battery Health may show “Unknown” or “Service”
Cameras
Sharp focus, accurate colour, and Night mode and stabilisation work as designed
Softer photos, slow focus, and some camera features can stop working
Face ID & Touch ID
Works securely, exactly as the manufacturer intended
Can stop working completely, and copy parts can’t bring it back
Messages on your phone
No “Unknown Part” or “Non-genuine” warnings in Settings
iPhone can show an “Unknown Part” message that stays in Settings
Water & dust seals
Precise original fit and seals
Looser fit and weaker seals, so more likely to fail early
Resale value
Keeps its full trade-in and resale value
Worth less when you sell or trade it in, and some shops refuse it
Every Fone4U phone is tested in Ireland and covered by our warranty. If a part ever needs replacing, we only fit a genuine one.
